6 Meditation Related Podcast Episodes To Listen To
PODCAST ROUNDUP
I’ve been lucky enough to have conversations with some pretty epic people who run cool podcasts. In an effort to keep them all in one place, here’s a list of some places I’ve talked…including a mini debrief of each one to see if it’s the right convo for you.
Happy listening xx
1. How to Meditate in The Modern World — In Power with Erin Chiarelli
Erin is one of the most energetic, lovely people you’ll ever meet. She has a way of making people feel at home so, naturally, on her pod I share stories I’ve never told publicly before…like that one time the Universe literally took the wheel and saved me from what would’ve been a fatal car accident, why I studied integrative health but kept it a secret, what led me to start teaching meditation at the age of 19, and my go-to holistic self care rituals (including cycle syncing using basal body temperature).
2. Meditation Matters with Jewelia Orlick — Happily Ever Active with Kelly Doell
Growing up my dad would always take me to his classes at the University of Ottawa (he was a professor there!). Funny enough I met the host of Happily Ever Active, Kelly, at one of those grad classes when I was 7. I adored him then and I still do now. Getting to be interviewed on his podcast many, many years later was such a treat. We talk about how to bring meditation into your fitness routine and the neuroscience behind what makes meditation so powerful.
3. A Kinder Mind with Jewelia Orlick — Elisa Unfiltered: Living Life Out Loud
Elisa & I first connected at a yoga retreat in Byron Bay! You’ll hear about that time we ran into Matt Damon while surfing and (more importantly) we talk in depth about meditation. Things like the benefits of being still and how to shift the grey matter in your brain for optimal health.
4. My Forgetful Father: Alzheimer’s Disease — Sickboy
I did this one anonymously in 2018. It was my first ever podcast about a topic that I was honestly really out of my comfort zone talking about. I’ve never listened to it back for that reason. Those who did listen have said that it contributed to a bigger conversation about the lack of support in our current Canadian healthcare model. For that reason alone, I guess it was worth it. Like I said though, I’ve never listened and knowing what I know now there are probably a lot of things I would have said differently. Honouring that younger version of myself regardless and grateful for the guys at Sickboy (Brian, Jeremy & Taylor) for asking me to come on their show.
5. Meditation for Athletes with Jewelia Orlick — The Aligned Athlete Method
Dr. Rosie Mead is a high performance coach based in the UK. Did I obsess over her British accent because it reminded me of my favourite reality tv show, Love Island? Yes. Once I got over that though — we went over the benefits of meditation, how we can start seeing meditation as a form of productivity, and the positive impact visualization has on enhancing our performance in life and sport.
6. Peace Through Mindfulness and The Inward Journey — In Between Visits Podcast
Dr. Kristy Lewis is a beautiful naturopath in the Ottawa community. On her show, we covered supportive tips & tricks to stay grounded and centered as you navigate the unknowns that accompany life. Not only that but we dive into how to realistically make your meditation happen, how to find the right meditation style for you, and what it looks like to genuinely enjoy your practice versus having it be yet another thing on your wellness ‘to-do’ list.
That’s the roundup! There’s a lot of goodness in all of those so be sure to check them out for more on meditation, my story, and other fun wellness related things.
Before you go I have to tell you a secret! I create and edit meditations for a living so I’m quite comfortable with the sound of my own voice. HOWEVER I’ve never listened to one of my own podcast episodes. Sooo you’re going to have to do it for me ;)
