Meditation to Restore
Lately, I’ve caught myself feeling more tired than normal. Maybe it’s that time of year. Weather gets colder (if you’re a fellow Canadian), the hype around the New Year starts to die down and days feel long. Whether it’s a lack of sleep, an emotional weight catching up to you or an unknown fatigue this is a practice to help restore your nervous system.
When my energy levels dip, I take that as a cue to modify my meditation practice slightly so it is focused on restoration and quiet. Less outward stimulation, more inner peace. With the constant influx of information we receive throughout our days, silence can be hard to come by. This can be a huge contributor to our exhaustion. Carving out time in your daily routine to be still can mean the difference between quickly feeling depleted and building your energy levels back up. Yes – we must consider our sleep, nutrition and the quality of nourishment in our social lives however meditation can be a great place to start as it triggers a ripple effect in all areas of our lives.
If you’ve been feeling sluggish, I feel you. Let’s take some time to restore, feel better, and breathe together.
